Sangeeta Das

Our CII 2025 participant Sangeeta Das from Odisha, India turned her action plan into action by successfully conducting a School Management Committee (SMC) Training on Disability, Inclusion, and ICC at Kankadahada, Dhenkanal, Odisha.

The primary aim of the training was to sensitise key stakeholders on the importance of inclusive education and to strengthen their understanding of the rights, needs, and opportunities for children with disabilities.

The session was attended by over 40 participants, including the Block Resource Centre Coordinator (BRCC), school teachers, SMC members, and parents. Together, they explored ways to build schools and communities where every child—regardless of ability—feels valued and supported.

Sangeeta’s initiative reflects the power of local leadership in transforming the education landscape. By empowering School Management Committees with the knowledge and tools to advocate for inclusivity, she is helping to create a foundation where children with disabilities are not just accommodated but actively included in every aspect of school life.

This action plan in motion is not just a milestone for Sangeeta, but also a step forward in building equitable education systems in Odisha and beyond.
