One of the highlights of the TWC events calendar is our Christmas Lunch and this year did not disappoint! TWC Patrons, members, friends, family and guests joined together at The Army and Navy Club, London for an afternoon of connection, shared moments, celebrations and joy.
We had the privilege to present longstanding officers of the council gifts for their service to TWC. The end of 2025 sees our Honorary Vice President, Rosina Dhala step down after 45 years in contributing to the charity. Rosina has also served as secretary, events coordinator and Vice Chair to Lady Monica Bernard. She is an enthusiastic and dedicated support of TWC and she was the inspiration behind the cook book, during the Covid-19 pandemic. A heartwarming tribute to Rosina from Dr Mithu Alur Founder President and Chairperson of ADAPT was also read out.
Our past Vice Chair and quiz master extraordinaire – Jenny Habib, also steps down after many years of dedicated service. Jenny has hosted a series of wonderfully intellectual and engaging quizzes on Zoom and in-person, where we all learned so much. Her quizzes were lively, enriching, and brought everyone together during a challenging time. Both were presented with gifts and a TWC certificate to celebrate their longstanding service.
Christmas themed tables were met with joyous conversations, new connections and a delicious lunch. We were joined by the amazingly talented classical singer – Josephine Shaw from The Royal College of Music, who elegantly sang several songs, captivating everyone with her melodic voice.
The raffle has always filled the room with laughter, with winners receiving wonderful prizes including a specially created painting by member Miriam Ghubril for TWC, a traditional decorative plate from our patron of Thailand, dinner for two at the London Hilton on Park Lane, beautiful brooch and a Japanese handbag.
As we end 2025, everyone at TWC would like to thank all those that have worked with us over this year to our commission mission of equality and inclusion for the disabled.
Wishing everyone a happy holiday and we will be back in the New Year with more exciting news.
