The Annual General Meeting was held in the impressive library at the University Women’s Club. We were honoured to be joined by representatives from the Embassies of China and Malaysia, Dr Mithu Alur, Founder and Chairperson of ADAPT, and Honorary Vice President Mrs Celia Brown (who had designed the original TWC bamboo logo 44 years ago!)
After the elections, Dr Alur shared interesting updates about the CII course in Mumbai, and Dr Moore presented latest reports from SETI in The Middle East. There was a video message from our Honorary Training Advisory, Rachel Tainsh, and we reminisced about our exciting events in 2021 with a short film.

We paid tribute to our very excellent Chairman, Mrs Pat Yaxley, who stood down after 10 years in the role. Knowing her love of roses and gardening, we presented her with a David Austin rose bush, “The Lady Gardener” and an engraved crystal vase for the flowers. She also received a voucher for Fortnum & Mason to enjoy, and Dr Alur presented her with a beautiful antique elephant statue and scroll which had travelled all the way from India.

It was uplifting to be back in person, as members and guests enjoyed lively conversation over a delicious lunch.
